Praised by The New York Times, The New Yorker, NPR, and more, NYC Winter Jazzfest has become a pivotal place for arts leaders, hardcore fans, and new listeners. What began in 2005 at the Knitting Factory has grown into a citywide celebration, featuring 120 bands and 500+ artists across 18 stages in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The festival was originally launched to spotlight music that deserved wider attention during the Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference. That mission continues, but the focus has expanded to include artists with meaningful messages ranging from racial and gender equity to climate action and immigration reform.

Winter Jazzfest aims to continue growing jazz’s audience through programming that reflects the diversity of New York and the global jazz scene. Expect everything from avant-garde and post-bop to jazz-funk, global fusions, and ambient electronics.
